Perhaps, just like most animals, human beings have the tendency to collect things be it food or items that makes us happy. Be it antiques, collectible sports memorabilia or even rock collections. At the moment, I find much happiness in collecting Pez dispensers. Currently I only have about 20 over dispensers but my collection is growing somewhat.

People who collects sports memorabillia like, sport helmets, jerseys or equipments from their favourite sports teams,collect the items for the love of the sport. As for me, I love pez dispensers not because I love Pez candies – I don’t really have a sweet tooth – but just for the cuteness. Yes, I really do think they are cute. So most of the time I give away the candies to the two family members with sweet tooth, and I keep the dispenser. They are so interesting that even my little daughter is helping with the collection.

At the moment I just keep them in a drawer, but as soon as it grows bigger, I would like to build a few shelves for display. Well, what’s the point of collecting when you can’t share them right?

Remember the caterpillar in Alice in wonderland? Well, when ever I see a caterpillar it will remind me of that hookah smoking caterpillar. As a child, watching the caterpillar in the story puffing away with his hookah, I used to wonder how it was like to smoke one of those. It looked so exotic and it didn’t look like any of the cigarettes that my father smoked, I thought.

In my early 20′s, with some friends, I tried to smoke a hookah for the first time. I tried it with some friends to a restaurant where you can pay to try. One hookah base with 3 hookah pipes that we smoke together the 5 of us. Unlike cigarettes, hookah tobacco also comes with flavours. There were a selection and one of us, who were more experienced than others, chose for us. I don’t really remember what it was, but it was an exciting experience. Although smoking hookah is a popular past-time in the middle east but it is now it is gaining popularity world wide now that it has become cheaper and easier to obtain. For me, it was fun hanging out with friends, chit chatting and relaxing while smoking the hookah. Further more, unlike cigarette smoking, you don’t have to be afraid that you will get addicted to hookah. It is not addictive.

Once we are settled down somewhere, with our own place, I think I might want to buy hookah set for the house. Believe me, even if one does not smoke, a khalil mamoon (a famous hookah manufacturer brand) hookah set looks exotic enough even to be put in a room as a decoration. But of course, when you have the set at home it would be such a waste not to use it once in a while. Especially when entertaining close friends at home.

Most of my friends are on facebook. I am on facebook, i.e, after many invitations by friends. I was reluctant at first but must admit that social networking can be addictive. Especially with all sorts of online games that you can multiplay with your friends on facebook – farmville, barn buddy, mafia etc.

Not only limited to computers, laptops and netbooks, nearly all smartphones come with Facebook application – Iphone, htc desire android, Nokia N8, etc. Which means that people can carry their addiction where ever they go. Nowadays another trend that more and more people are picking  is the ‘where I am’ status by friends on facebook. Why is it people want other people to know where they are constantly?? I can’t figure that. Well, if you want people to know that you are on a vacation somewhere exotic is understandable, but not when you are lining up at McDonalds.

Though I don’t update people my whereabouts, I do check my Facebook account constantly or when I’m on my pc, there’s always a window on Facebook open.I did play barn buddy, mafia, and cafe on facebook, but I noticed how they are becoming a part of my daily life that I just quit playing them. I won’t even bother to try out new game requests from friends now. Afraid that I might get addicted to it.

Finding old friends is a good thing about facebook, but being so good that you get addicted to it is not. Now, I’m contemplating whether I should just delete my facebook account. Hmmmm…

One particular interest that both my husband and I share  is watching football. Though he plays football too, I only watch the game. So we are looking forward to the 2010 World Cup this June. There aren’t any favourite teams, we just love to watch the big players of the football world play. There can be lots and lots of drama on the football field.

In preparation for the World cup, we intend to get one of those cool hard drive recorder or digital recorder to replace our obsolete VCR. Got the idea when I came upon harddriverecorder.org.uk. I think it would be brilliant. We won’t have to miss any of the big matches if there are 2 important matches to see or when we can’t be at home to watch.

It was not too long ago that my husband set up a company of his own.  Apart from his work, he is doing other things to gain more income for the family. It is a rather new company that we don’t have any stationeries and business cards just yet. So I was just browsing online looking at the various websites that offers letterheads, brochures, envelopes, and business cards printing services.

I tried out printsmadeeasy.com and did a sample business card. Sure was easy to make. This one only took me a minute to complete. You see, there are hundreds of templates to choose from and you can search for the right template that suits your business theme just by searching for the keywords that describe your company. Once the template is chosen, you will be directed to a page where you can do a little bit more customizing – name, position, telephone number, email add, the fonts, colors, etc. Once this step is done, you will be directed to the page where you can place an order. The minimum amount you can order is 20 pieces and can cost as little as $2.99. I think it is pretty decent.

Well, all in all, I think even doing the designing of the card was fun too.

I, just like many thousands or perhaps millions of people in the world are just the watchers of sports. Mainly football. Some people I know never even played the game in their lives, yet love the game fanatically. Well, not so strange is it? As we all love a good movie sometimes despite never being actors or actresses ourselves.

It has been some time since I last saw any active conversation on dneero.com. It is just simple survey that you fill up, ask 1 question relating to the survey that other participants can answer then paste the conversation on your website so that others may see and perhaps even join too. I sure am glad to see a couple of new active conversations there today.  ^_^

Young children sure do love to imitate what adults do. They love to play pretend games. I can still remember how I love to play house with my friends. Now, my young daughter loves to pretend making coffee or cook something for me. And sometimes we would even play shop together. For now we would play using real money and some items we find around the house as merchandise.

So now I’ve decided to get her a toy cash register. I have to say even I myself enjoy play shop with a cash register. Even though it is just a toy one.The cash register is simple – no Epson tm-t88iv – but it provided us hours of fun.

As a child I never really like dolls or play with dolls. Even now as a mother, I even prefer my daughter to play pretend games like this rather than dressing up dolls. I think she learns more this way. She practice counting the money, learn about what having money means, etc.

I just wonder when can I be the shopkeeper sometimes.

Spring will officially start on the 20th of March people say. Which means we have a little more than a month left to go. I do not know

why I have this feeling as if we are having a long winter. Maybe because of the frequent snow fall compared to other years? Perhaps. I’m just missing the sun a little bit.

When I think about it… Just wonder how those people live in Alaska or somewhere where the winters are longer. Well, at least they don’t have to worry about finding the right age spot remover when they’re old.

Huh, look at me, expressing my longing for warmer days. When people from warmer climated countries would be longing for colder days. I guess people will never be satisfied with what they have. 

I love gadgets. Well, most people I know likes gadgets. Some cool, cute, interesting and even wacky. Just like these usb speaker that looks like your American Standard toilets.

Interesting… very interesting…. that someone would want speakers that look like toilets.

But then I suppose, novelty items are kind of an in thing these days.
