Pretend games.

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Young children sure do love to imitate what adults do. They love to play pretend games. I can still remember how I love to play house with my friends. Now, my young daughter loves to pretend making coffee or cook something for me. And sometimes we would even play shop together. For now we would play using real money and some items we find around the house as merchandise.

So now I’ve decided to get her a toy cash register. I have to say even I myself enjoy play shop with a cash register. Even though it is just a toy one.The cash register is simple - no Epson tm-t88iv :) - but it provided us hours of fun.

As a child I never really like dolls or play with dolls. Even now as a mother, I even prefer my daughter to play pretend games like this rather than dressing up dolls. I think she learns more this way. She practice counting the money, learn about what having money means, etc.

I just wonder when can I be the shopkeeper sometimes. :D

Missing the sun.

Spring will officially start on the 20th of March people say. Which means we have a little more than a month left to go. I do not know

why I have this feeling as if we are having a long winter. Maybe because of the frequent snow fall compared to other years? Perhaps. I’m just missing the sun a little bit.

When I think about it… Just wonder how those people live in Alaska or somewhere where the winters are longer. Well, at least they don’t have to worry about finding the right age spot remover when they’re old.

Huh, look at me, expressing my longing for warmer days. When people from warmer climated countries would be longing for colder days. :) I guess people will never be satisfied with what they have.  :)

A diamond studded mercedes. This is Saudi Prince Waleed Bin Talal’s 38th car, a diamond studded SL600 Mercedes and is worth $4.8 million. When you earn billions, less extravagant auto accessories would be insufficient huh??
When I checked the hungerreport.org website, it is said about 115 million people in the world are hungry. And there are some people who drive more than one car and afford to encrust their luxury cars with diamonds.

Sad eh?

You Are 60% Addicted to the Internet

You’re somewhat addicted to the internet - but who isn’t?You can keep it under check, and you’re by no means a hermit.

There are about 1,596,270,108 internet users throughout the world. The users growth from year 2000 - 2008 is 342.2 %.   [Information source via internetworldstats.com]

I have been actively using the internet since mid 1997. It was the first time ever I used the computer too. I was hooked ever since. I find the internet to be a treasure trove of information that are easily obtained just at a few clicks of the computer mouse. From information about the historical events that occured on the day I was born to information about the best weight loss pill on the market. So much so that even if I plan to buy something that cost more than $20 I’d go and read reviews about it. :p Now with all the social networking sites like friendster and facebook, multiplayer role playing online games and more, the internet has become a lot more interesting compared to when I first experienced being online.

With all the things you can do on the internet nowdays, hard to blame anyone who are addicted to the internet isn’t it? :)

Music.

Friday, June 12th, 2009

Music for the entire family seems to me is the thing of the past. I cannot even watch MTV music videos when my little 3 year old is around. There are simply too much ’sex’ in music these days.

20-30 years ago, I believe the entire family could sit in front of the tv, young and old, and enjoy good clean music.

A great man will always be remembered.

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

An old malay saying goes like this, “When a tiger dies, it will leave its stripes. When a man dies, he will leave his name”.  A wonderful person will always be remembered even long after he is no more.

I finished watching ‘Gone with the Wind’ for the umpteenth time. It is indeed a legendary movie that those who have seen it would usually remember it for as long as they live.

Ever since I watched the movie, I simply fell in love with Clark Gable’s acting and style. Amazing isn’t it? A man who has been long gone for nearly half a century can still make a deep impression in the hearts’ of those who watched his movies. It is no surprise why he got the title King of Hollywood as Elvis was the King of Rock n’ Roll.

Really is a sad thing that he died too soon. 59 is still considered too young to die. Well, as they say, life and death is out of our control, but at least he had left a legacy for all of us to remember him by.

Jimi Hendrix was murdered.

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

30 over years after his death, James Marshall Hendrix, or famously known as Jimi Hendrix is still considered the number one guitarist. People still listened to his albums and some fans still mourn for his death.

It was only last evening when we were watching a documentary about the death of Hendrix on the Viasat History Channel. All these years, the fans had been made to believe that Hendrix died of drug overdose (Heroine most probably), drowned in his own vomit. It was indeed a shock to know that these are not true. Jimi Hendrix was in fact murdered, and the one who played a role in his death was none other than his own manager, Michael Jeffery.

It is said that, Hendrix could not have got a D.O of Heroine since he never took them. Further instead of vomit, his lungs were found to be full of red wine. He was drowned with wine not vomit.

The reason why Jeffery wanted Hendrix dead, was for one Hendrix found out that Jeffery had been stealing money from him, secondly because Jeffery had a life insurance policy on Hendrix worth  £1.2million with Jeffery as the beneficiary.

It seems that Jeffery made a solemn confession about how he was responsible for Hendrix’s death to one former band player for Hendrix, James Wright. Whether it is true that Jeffery killed Hendrix or not, maybe. But why did he confessed to James Wright? If only we can find out  from the man himself, but he took his secret to the grave when he himself died in plane crash in 1973.

Nevertheless to know how Jimi Hendrix really died, it is so, so sad. It is indeed  a terrible ending for an amazing guitar legend like Jimi Hendrix.

R.I.P Jimi…

Watch movees online.

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

I suppose most of us if not all may have watched  tv shows or movies online at least once. I usually would check out on Youtube, however, more often than not, I won’t be able to find a full movie on that site.

There are quite a few websites where you can Watch movies on, but you may have to do plenty of searching to find those websites. Now, how about being able to Watch movies online all from one website? You can, you know. At mymovees.com. They have put the movies under specific categories - Adventure, romance, comedy, drama, horror etc - so you may look for the type of movies you may be interested to watch. Or you can browse the movies in alphabetical order.

I’m actually watching “Space Buddies” at the moment. The movie is quite a new movie that came out earlier this year. After checking out a few of the videos, I can say that some of the video’s quality is just watchable, but some can be rather good. ( Like “Space Buddies”. )

So if you love watching tv shows and movies online, you should visit the website.

Anime fans.

Friday, April 10th, 2009

What is Anime? Anime comes from the English word “Animation”. So basically Animes are Japanese animation. Although when it comes to animations we would usually relate them to little kids, but Animes are targeted for both the young ones and adults. Some Animes can be suitable for little children and some can be rated as 18SX or 18PG.

Perhaps I have mentioned about it here in my blog. I am one of the many Anime fans. My favourite anime genres are  “Slice of Life” and “Horror”.  I believe you know what the Horror genre is all about. Slice of life genre is based on normal everyday life. No fantasy or futuristic.

Anime has a very wide fan base. Consists of people from all walks of life. From the Americas to Asia to Europe. So much so that there are various forums and chat rooms where fans can gather and discuss about their favourite animes. Latest one that I know of is animechatcity.com. A Free Anime Chat website that anyone can join. I just checked that there are about 50 thousands over members on the site. Boy, you sure would be able to find plenty of people to chat with.

Will be heading to the site and see what sort of  Animes they chat about.
