Not winter yet huh?

Wednesday, December 1st, 2010

I’ve lived in a four seasoned country close to 5 years now. Yet I still do not know when it is okay to say, ‘it is winter already’. Well, according to some websites I’ve visited, winter officially begins on the 21st or 22nd of December. Since today is only the 1st of December, it isn’t winter yet. While according to people I know, when you feel like it is winter, it is winter.  I’d go for the second opinion.

It snowed twice already and the temperature is less than 5 degrees celcius nearly every day for the past one week. It’s eczema treatment time for some unfortunate people. I know I have patches of dry skin here and there. Really annoying. If this ain’t winter,  but it sure isn’t Autumn. Doesn’t feel like Autumn that is. Must be Auwin (for season in between autumn and winter). Okay, I know I’m being ridiculous.

Don’t you just dislike dirty snow???

Due to bad weather, we had to change plans again. So yesterday we went to see some sharks at the big aquarium. It’s where we can see all sorts of underwater animals and a few other tropical animals.

As usual, I took many pictures and videos with my FZ 28.

When ever I watch videos taken with my camera, I feel glad that I had taken the time to read all those camera reviews before buying. I only had one compact camera prior to this. I would love to try a DSLR camera, but I think starting with a prosumer camera would be better for me who doesn’t know much about photography.

Aging hamster.

Friday, May 28th, 2010

This coming  June will be the anniversary of the time we brought out hamster back home. Though we are not sure when exactly he was born, but we know that he is roughly about a year old. From what I have read and told, hamster’s lifespan is around 1 1/2 to 2 years or slightly more.

So that means Hammy (our hamster’s nickname) is about 50 years old Hamster age?? Isn’t really that old I suppose but we can’t help but notice that he goes on his hamster treadmill less and less. And we see less of him as he seems to sleep more nowadays even at night.

Here is Hammy eating a bit of chicken breast.

I just hope it is just a period of laziness that he is going through and not really old age. We are all hoping that Hammy would be with us for the maximum time a hamster can live. We love you Hammy!

Hobby.

After getting a new camera, I find taking pictures more interesting than before. When before I never even bothered to read even the manual of my digital camera yet alone learn how to utilize the digital camera’s up to it’s fullest potential, I’ve spent quite sometime nowadays reading about the best ways of taking photos and taking hundreds of pictures just to get that one nice shot.

A couple of experimental water photography I did.

So taking pictures has become a new of hobby of mine these days. Going online and go online window shopping reading about and looking at clothes, shoes, furniture, tv stands, etc is interesting. But taking photos and getting good shots can indeed be satisfying. :)
