Vacation and birthday.

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

So our vacation is finally set. Will be going to Croatia for the summer. Most probably will celebrate my birthday there too. :) It is exciting to think not only about the vacation itself but also the birthday celebration in a foreign country.

Now since we will be going for the vacation, there is a leniency for my husband to choose a birthday present. Can be a set of all clad copper core cookware, a charm bracelet or even a new compact camera. :P Well, I know I shouldn’t be greedy. Just going on a vacation is a birthday present in itself.

I’m grateful! :)

Class continues.

Japanese tutor is going off on a holiday for 2 weeks. However the next class we will be having a replacement tutor. A man tutor who would be teaching us in Japanese as the teaching medium. I’m okay with it since we will be going off on a 2 weeks holiday sometime next month, so it’s okay to learn as much as we can now. We’re only in Lesson 9, 4 more lessons to go to finish the Genki 1 book.

As for our holidays, it is still not confirmed yet where we would go, even though we already have in mind a few places worth going to. I’m already looking for information on these places. Checking the hotel rates on quotation sites just like one of those insurance quotes websites. Checking out tripadvisors for things to do and places to visit.

Scouring information about our trip has already put me on a holiday mode and less mood on studying and classes. But classes continues, so I must keep myself focused on my studies.

Garden work.

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

Every two weeks or so we would go to visit grandma to help her with garden work. Today it took me more than about 2 hours with little rest to cut the grass in the garden.  Then later, raking the grass and collect the twigs and branches to be burnt later. If you ask me, I’d say intensive working in the garden can be a quick weight loss workout.

Mom-in-law, gave a call just to ask whether we are having any sore muscles from all the work. Well, so far I don’t have any sore muscles yet… Let’s see how it is tomorrow.

Summer vacation.

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

I am pretty excited about this summer vacation. We are planning to go to Croatia by car. Well, even if that didn’t work we would still be able to go to Balaton for a week or two since the last time we went there for a vacation was 2 years ago. An uncle has a timeshare ownership in one of the small hotels there.  Not sure whether he still has it or not. The place was really nice. If I were him, I’d wouldn’t sell my timeshare. It is good to know that you or a family member can always go to that nice place again.

Anyway, going back to summer vacation in Croatia. I am actually looking for an apartment to rent for a week. We are going with the in-laws. Really looking forward to go on a vacation! :)

Renaissance car.

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Just as usual I am multitasking – reading about irvingia, checking and processing some pictures we took last weekend, posting replies in forums, and blogging. :) Last weekend I took hundreds of pictures on our visit to the transport museum and the park. Looking through some of the pictures, here is a couple that I like. The renaissance car.

Rope operated renaissance car.

Car moves when the rope is pulled.  Sure would need a lot of hard work. No wonder it never gained in popularity. :P
