Can’t stop browsing.

Monday, May 31st, 2010

My bad browsing habit has just got to stop. Perhaps you may find this situation similar to you  at times. I started off reading my emails  first thing when I switched on my laptop. From there I clicked on links after links. So I’ve been reading a Texas Truck accident lawyer website, then the latest news today about the attack in Gaza, and then replying in the forums I visit frequently. Later seeing some links of videos on the forums, I clicked on them and the browsing and wasting of time continued.

Once I realized what I’ve been doing, I’ve wasted like 2 hours of non-productive work. The internet provided us with plenty of good things but it is also a time waster if one isn’t careful to check oneself every now and then.

Organizing.

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Every few weeks I’d buy something for my craft hobby. 2 weeks ago it was this organizer cabinet. It wasn’t something that I had in mind but it was okay nevertheless. Keeps my craft tools, materials and also a few stationaries organized and I can always find them easily when ever I need them.

If only I can order an organizer cabinet the way I want it, like how you can get custom cardboard boxes made for you nowadays. But I am not complaining at all. I’m still happy with my purchase.

Lesson 9

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

This Friday we will be finishing lesson 8 of the Genki I book and enter into Lesson 9. Usually it would take us about 2 classes to complete a lesson, but lesson 8 seems to be a wee bit longer than the other previous lessons. Anyway  this coming class will be our last class till the sensei comes back after her two weeks holiday in Australia.

Eventually I get to relax a bit I think… Forget about learning Japanese for 2 whole weeks and take afternoon naps whenever I can and get rid fo this dark circles under eyes that are forming due to the lack of sleep. But we never know, she may even leave us with loads of homework to do like she did other times. Huh, so much for relaxing. But it’s fine though cause I shouldn’t be not studying Japanese for that long anyway.

Jealous

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

What am I  jealous of? Well, I’m jealous of how some people can make really nice crafts – crochets, felt craft, smocking etc. I’m jealous I tell ya… But at least it makes me motivated to learn. I want to be as good if not better if I can. I suppose everyone has to start from not knowing how to do anything and they keep on doing and practicing till they become good at something.

Hairpin I made out of felt last week.

I’m off to go shopping for some more craft items today. Something that I may need later. You see, although I don’t need some of the things right now, but I am the sort that likes to have everything at hand when ever I need them. In case I have the urge to create, I don’t want the feeling to be interupted for not having the things I need. :D

Huh, while I shop for craft items, I suppose I will browse around for other things too – new acne creams, new eyeliner and a new lipstick. Women and shopping… :)

Post your weightloss product review.

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Being a consumer that tries to shop smart, I have often checked out reviews by other consumers before I decided on buying anything. So much so, I can say that my shopping experiences are good most of the time. In return, I also like to  contribute my reviews of products that I’ve tried, on review sites and also online shopping websites.

The same goes when it comes to weight loss products, if not more important, to read reviews of the products before you buy. There are various review sites out there, but the ones I like most are those that allow real users to give their opinions on the products. Just like what getdietsolutions.com is doing. You can read loads of weighloss product reviews not only by professionals but also users. If you have any opinions on any weightloss products reviewed on the website, you can post your opinion directly on the review page. As an example you can click here for lipozene information and check it out for yourself.

Be generous to share your knowledge, you may be helping many others in making a better choice.

Aging hamster.

Friday, May 28th, 2010

This coming  June will be the anniversary of the time we brought out hamster back home. Though we are not sure when exactly he was born, but we know that he is roughly about a year old. From what I have read and told, hamster’s lifespan is around 1 1/2 to 2 years or slightly more.

So that means Hammy (our hamster’s nickname) is about 50 years old Hamster age?? Isn’t really that old I suppose but we can’t help but notice that he goes on his hamster treadmill less and less. And we see less of him as he seems to sleep more nowadays even at night.

Here is Hammy eating a bit of chicken breast.

I just hope it is just a period of laziness that he is going through and not really old age. We are all hoping that Hammy would be with us for the maximum time a hamster can live. We love you Hammy!

Tamanu oil.

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

I suffer from extreme flaky dry skin for years. Started to become rather bad ever since I gave birth to my daughter. Since then I’ve tried many products to help moisturize my skin, however to no avail. I have started to take zinc supplement not too long ago and finally I can see some improvement on my skin. Nevertheless, I am still quite open to new skin care products, mainly natural ones, in the hopes to have healthier looking skin.

For the first time today I read about a natural oil called Vanuatu Tamanu Oil. A natural oil that are collected from dry Tamanu fruit kernel. Though Tamanu trees grows inland but they thrive abundantly in Vanuatu’s coastal areas. It is the  kernel of fruits beared by Tamanu trees in coastal areas that provide the best Tamanu oil.

Tamanu oil is said to have the ability to help regenerate skin, thus effective in treating acne and acne scars, scars in general, stretch marks, psoriasis, eczema, sunburn, blisters, dry scaly skin, age spots, herpes sores, etc.

It also said to be able to treat various form of skin infections – ringworm, dermaphytosis of the scalp or beard, athlete’s foot, and itching – and also infected wounds due to the Canophyllol (anti bacterial) and the lactone (anti biotics) content.

The list of tamanu oil benefits goes on. So if you are interested to read more on this you can check out this link:

Craft item shopping.

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Ever since I ordered loads of craft supplies from ebay sellers last week, parcels have been pouring in nearly everyday. Thank goodness the volcano in Iceland didn’t effect the delivery of my orders. When ever I shop for craft supplies I would really compare prices from one seller to another. I’d put the same effort of reading reviews of other buyers just like I would read diet pill reviews if I were to look for the best diet pills. Yeah, I am a cheapskate. :P But who wouldn’t if many of the items if added together would cost a fortune. Hobbies can be really expensive.

Pea planting.

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

A couple of days ago I picked up some green pea seeds, soil and a plant container at the local hardware shop. I wanted to plant the peas in the hopes that we’d be  able to enjoy our own home grown green peas by the end of July. We just live in an apartment so the peas were planted in the container and pots.

My mother in law has a garden at her weekend house somewhat half the size of a football field.

It did came to mind of such a waste it is not to do anything with it. Here I am planting peas in pots when there is a land waiting to be used. *sigh* Well, the place isn’t mine. But would be nice to have our own garden, with an outdoor fire place,  a nice fish pond – complete with a garden pond filter and a small fountain, and rows and rows of vegetables. :) I’m not the flower type. I’d rather plant vegetables.

Anyhow, lets wait a few more days and see whether my peas would sprout or not. :)

When unable to sleep…

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

I come online and blog about it. Sleep simply wouldn’t come to me despite my feeling terribly tired. After a couple of hours or so of trying to sleep I finally got up and decided to blog.  Today we worked quite hard clearing up the garden. Pulling out weeds and cutting knee-high grass. Major spring cleaning.

My muscles are aching just like the first time I did an ab workout. Only I’m feeling it throughout my entire body right now. What would people normally do in times like this? Drink a glass of warm milk? Put pillows all over to lessen the muscle ache? Not sure, but since I’ve mentioned it, I might as well do just that and see whether they would work to help me sleep.
