I have been looking for a new digital camera. Have been lots and lots of written and video reviews. Choosing the right sort of digital camera sure isn’t like shopping for area rugs. Way too many things to read and understand – I’m just a novice in this.

There are times when I thought, “Why in the world do I need a new camera for when the one I have is working fine?” (Usually when I feel like I’m going in circles reading reviews). The camera I have currently is a Canon Powershot A400. 3.2 mp with 2x optical zoom (?). I have been having it for 4-5 years now. Feel that an upgrade is due. The camera takes nice pictures but surely has limitations. I would like to have a higher megapixeled camera and ability to zoom in and out while recording videos. But most importantly a camera that uses double A batteries instead of rechargeable battery packs.

Thus far I’ve narrowed down my choices to:

Canon Powershot A590 is.

Canon Powershot SX110 is.

I didn’t go far from the Canon powershot range. But that after checking out a few other different cameras from other makes like Panasonic, Fujifilm, Kodak, etc. So many choices it’s mind boggling.

Since I still have plenty of time to make a decision, I am still keeping my options open but with these two at the top of the list at the moment.

I’ve started a new camera fund not too long ago and promised myself not to spend too much on other things. But the more I need to save for one thing, the more I spend on other things.

Last week alone I’ve been getting packages of books nearly every day from various online stores. Some necessary, some out of impulse. These week will be receiving a few more items. Small things. Did I need them ? Could live without.

Saw some pretty looking Dansko sandals online, a few pairs of cute looking blouses, and also some books I thought I may want to read and felt that maybe it wouldn’t hurt to order more. Would hurt my budget for a new camera alright. *sigh*

Currently feeling frustrated at myself. LOL. Need to chill and not browse at things too much perhaps.
