Jimi Hendrix was murdered.

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

30 over years after his death, James Marshall Hendrix, or famously known as Jimi Hendrix is still considered the number one guitarist. People still listened to his albums and some fans still mourn for his death.

It was only last evening when we were watching a documentary about the death of Hendrix on the Viasat History Channel. All these years, the fans had been made to believe that Hendrix died of drug overdose (Heroine most probably), drowned in his own vomit. It was indeed a shock to know that these are not true. Jimi Hendrix was in fact murdered, and the one who played a role in his death was none other than his own manager, Michael Jeffery.

It is said that, Hendrix could not have got a D.O of Heroine since he never took them. Further instead of vomit, his lungs were found to be full of red wine. He was drowned with wine not vomit.

The reason why Jeffery wanted Hendrix dead, was for one Hendrix found out that Jeffery had been stealing money from him, secondly because Jeffery had a life insurance policy on Hendrix worth  £1.2million with Jeffery as the beneficiary.

It seems that Jeffery made a solemn confession about how he was responsible for Hendrix’s death to one former band player for Hendrix, James Wright. Whether it is true that Jeffery killed Hendrix or not, maybe. But why did he confessed to James Wright? If only we can find out  from the man himself, but he took his secret to the grave when he himself died in plane crash in 1973.

Nevertheless to know how Jimi Hendrix really died, it is so, so sad. It is indeed  a terrible ending for an amazing guitar legend like Jimi Hendrix.

R.I.P Jimi…

Just too sad…

A three-year-old girl in the US state of California has accidentally shot her younger brother dead with a gun found in her home, say police.

The girl is believed to have found the .45 calibre semi-automatic handgun under her parents’ bed.

Her two-year-old brother was taken to Kern County hospital with a critical chest wound but later died.

Police investigating the incident and said the children’s mother was at home at the time.

Police Sgt Greg Terry said police would be looking at whether the weapon had been safely and securely secured.

“It’s so important that if you’re going to have firearms in your possession, make sure they’re stored safely, so that incidents like this don’t occur,” local media quoted Sgt Terry as saying.

When you read such news that you feel like screaming at the parents, “What are you?? Stupid??!!”. It is just too sad when you think that such tragedies can be prevented if the parents had thought of keeping the gun somewhere out of reach.

Only yesterday we read news of Mike Tyson’s 4 year old daughter, who died when she accidentally got strangled on a threadmill cable.

I know that this sort of thing can happen to anyone. Even to the most cautious among us. It’s a reminder for us parents to keep your eyes peeled and not to leave your kids, under 7 at least, out of your supervision for long stretch of time.

Hair trends.

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

I am not the sort of person who follows any sort of trends. I’d go for something that look good on me and reflects my personality. I had very short hair and I had very long hair. Currently I am wearing my hair long. Just past the shoulder length.

Japanese from Zero! 2.

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

I just received a copy of ‘Japanese from Zero! 2′ in the mail today. Since I got it today, so no this post is not going to be a review of the book. I even got a copy of ‘Oxford’s beginners dictionary’ as my first Japanese-English dictionary.

There are 5 books in the series so far. However only up to 3 are sold in bookstores. I contacted those people at YesJapan.com regarding Japanese from Zero! 4 and 5. They are only scheduled to come out in 2010 but the materials in the books can be found on their website at YesJapan.com. You have to pay a certain fee to be able to use the lessons on the site. Perhaps I will try it out once I have finished book 3. Let’s see.

So will give book 1 a swift revision and start on the 2nd book.

Let the experts manage your property.

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Real property can be a very lucrative business. Rent a few houses or apartments, rent them out and you earn well every month. I know some people who do this for a living. However, it still doesn’t go without a little work on the owner’s part to do a little Real Property Management.

That is why there are companies out there that does just that. They help property owners - either those who only owns a single home or even those who owns hundreds of places. One such companies is Real Property Management (RPM). RPM currently manages more than 20,000 unit across the US. They are even featured in the Bizjournal of Cincinnati and Columbus. To know more about them you can visit their website at rpmmidwest.com.

Property management may be a bit more complicated than it looks. For things like this, I would definitely rather let the experts take care of business.

Memorial day.

Monday, May 25th, 2009

It’s the time of the year again when the people in the US celebrates ‘Memorial Day’ to commemorate those who has fought for the freedom of the nation.

In my home country we call it “Hari Pahlawan” or “Warrior’s day”. Celebrated on the 31st of July every year.

Piercing my ears.

Monday, May 25th, 2009

The first time I had my ears pierced was when I was 4. One day I took the earrings off and told my mom I didn’t want to wear them anymore. So the holes closed up. The second time I don’t remember when I had it done but that too closed up. I thought of waiting for Monday to get them pierced again but I remember once my brother pierced his own earlobes with a pin. oooohh… So that’s what I did, pierced them myself with a cleaned needle.

I know that some is going to think that I was rather crazy, but this isn’t the craziest thing I’ve done. LOL So was it painful ? stung a little. But not so much.Bled a little but that’s it. After the first lobe I felt like not wanting to do on the second one, but since I’ve done one, I couldn’t stop, could I? Second one is always more painful. Well, slightly I think. I managed to pierce my own ears. Definitely not going to try on my nose. Mia ha ha ha. My aunt had her nose pierced (She’s an Indian so she had to do it as a cultural thing) the traditional way, yes same tool, a pin. Saw her after she came back home from piercing and the side of her face where the piercing was look slightly swollen. Tears were still running down her eyes. Believe me, nose piercing is a lot more painful. Even if you do it the modern way with a piercing gun.

Few hours later, they look good.I don’t think I will try to do it again.

12 hours or so later, a bit discomfort but no scabs or fluid around the piercing. Hopefully they’ll heal nicely.

Financial freedom.

Monday, May 25th, 2009

I was browsing an Arizona Debt Relief website where they help people to clear off their loans or debts. They would provide people with financial consultations, and offer step-by-step solution which they will guide through the entire way. I know a few people who kept getting into trouble with debts and I believe that this kind of service is necessary for such people.

Although I think that the best way to attain financial freedom is to buy things for cash and never take up loans, coming from the middle range income group there are times when I don’t think we can avoid taking necessary loans.

The first big loan that I ever took was my student loan. Second one is for getting my first car to get to work every day. So you see, both these loans are rather necessary. Loans can be a good thing, but the bad side of it, is that it gives you an illusion of being able to afford anything when in reality you don’t. Thus you began to take up this and that loan which in the end you are unable to pay back. Or perhaps one could afford to pay up all the loans every single month religiously, but simply could not foresee the future. What if you lose your job? what if you get sick and unable to go to work? etc.

Anyway, so what if you get into a stump with all the debts? That’s when such services from companies like Debt relief LLC comes in handy. Perhaps to attain financial freedom may sound easier that it really is, but it is indeed not impossible.

Summer already?

Wednesday, May 20th, 2009

We are in the middle of May and it is supposed to be Spring. But I just took a peek outside the window and saw that the thermometer indicating that the temperature outside is 38 degrees! It is warm alright. We had to have the fans running 24/7. I am a little worried to think about what kind of heat we would have to expect this summer.

We have thought of getting air conditioning fixed for this year since we felt that perhaps even fan may not be able to keep us cool when it gets warmer.

It is not confirmed yet though. Still considering. Perhaps we may get the portable one or simply the normal fixed aircond. I was checking aircon247.com just to have a feel of what options we may have. They offer a variety - wall mounting split air cond, ceiling suspending split air cond, portable air conditioning system, air humidifiers, etc. Compared to the choices we had some 10 years ago, we sure have plenty of options to stay cool.

Nihongo o benkyou shitai yo.

I’ve been studying Japanese consistently for a few months now. People say, to start something is easy. But to finish what you start takes a lot of discipline.  Studying Japanese all by myself can be a little hard. But they say, if you love doing what you are doing, a little hardship is endurable.

I’ve nearly finished “Japanese from Zero! 1″ and had started to consider ordering the second one now and also a Kanji book. Mustered up a little courage to write a short post in Japanese on Lang-8 website for others to see and correct.

My daugther kept mimicking me while I recite the dates, months and days in Japanese. (I even recite while I’m bathing in the bathtub. :P) Talk about dedication huh. LOL

So far I think George Trombley’s “Japanese from zero!” is good. Although I sometimes feel that it goes a little too slow. Maybe because I’ve already know many things in the book so there’s little challenge there. :P (I am a beginner who wasn’t so much a beginner) Let’s see the second one.

Maybe Kanji would get me shakin in me pants. LOL Yeah, just the mention on Kanji my heart beats faster. I feel nervous. Unsure whether I can learn them. What ever it is, I’m not quitin’. Yossshhhh…..
