I have been busy with my language studies. When I’m not sitting down reading or writing, I’ll be listening to some language audiobooks while cooking, cleaning and other things. In other words I’ve been bombarding my brain.

For my Hungarian studies, I’m listening to the Pimsleur Hungarian, text book by Miklós Törkenczy, sources from the internet and some Hungarian children’s book. I dedicate minimum of 30 mins a day (usually more) for Hungarian. Though I’m listening and try to talk in the language at other times. Will go through the grammar book and utilize the info that I understand at least and leave the ones that I do not understand for the time being. I realize what put me off the language many times is because I got intimidated at how hard some part of the grammar can be albeit the fact that there are those that I understood well enough. So concentrating on the things that I understand and strengthening it and once I’m confident enough go to the ones that I’m not too sure about.

As for my Japanese studies, there are some mp3s that I got from websites like NHK and Japanesepod101. Free websites. Also from one informative website, MLCjapanese.co.jp. Besides these I have Japanese for Busy People and also as I mentioned a few posts back prior to this one, the DS game - My Japanese Coach. There are of course a few other websites that I refer to once in a while and still looking for more resources. I’m done with Hiragana and nearly done with Katakana. Soon will be getting into Kanji. Learning some basic verbs and sentence building. I plan to take the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) sometime next year. That is why I have to work hard. Knowing that I will be taking an exam makes me more determined to learn the language for there is a target to be achieved.

These languages are known not to be very easy, but if there are people who are able to learn them, what makes me different and cannot learn it?? If 6 out of 10 people who learns the language makes it and 4 others gave up. I’d rather be in the group of 6 people who did it.

Just got to keep on movin’…
