Worth buying rugs.

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Even if I do not have any other furniture like a sofa set and a coffee table in my living room, I definitely would want to have at least a rug on the floor. Makes it look warm, cosy and friendlier. Not only it decorates the room, it also provides soft padding for safety, especially in a house where there are little toddlers who just learnt to walk or an elderly person may fall by accident. It also absorbs the sound created from within the room.

The world’s most expensive rug to date is a 16th-17th century Persian rug that measures 7’ 5” x 5’ 7”. Sold at Christie’s for $4.45 million.

It broke the previous record of most expensive rug which was a Chelaberd Kazak rug sold for only $341,625. With the price tag like that we could buy hundreds of high quality silk rugs. Furthermore, I’d be afraid to even walk on those rugs. Further it is amazing how much money people would spend on a rug that may soon  fall apart when there are millions of children in need of food, education and proper shelter.

Oh well, anyway since most of us do not have that much of cash so splash on rugs, it is a good thing that there are still high quality cheap rugs available for us. They may not cost millions or even hundreds of thousands, but the rugs from online stores like superiorrugs.com would serve the purposes well.

They have an amazing big collection of area rugs from countries like Turkey and Belgium. They offer rugs made of 100% pure silk or wool, and also other synthetic materials that comes in various designs, colours, and sizes. All at very much affordable prices.
You definitely do not need millions or thousands of dollars just to have a real nice, good quality rug for your home.

I’m a Tamagotchi fan.

I’m in my 20′s yet I love Tamagotchis. I don’t care! I love them because I think they are adorable. Tamagotchi first came out and became a craze in the late 90′s. I was in my teens then. 10 years later they are still around and thriving with new models coming out every few months if not every year.

In September last year Bandai announced their latest Tamagotchi collection. Tamagotchi in colour! And a lot more exciting their gray pixel ancestors.

The little tamagotchi’s can do a lot more stuff by the looks of it. Pretty backgrounds.

They are out in Japan but not sure anyone else out side of Japan can get hold of them other than ordering straight from the land of the rising sun. Saw a few on ebay for above $60. If they do come out in local stores in other countries, it’ll be around $50 each.

Hope to get hold of one for my collection.
