Add a contact form to your wordpress blog.

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

I had some people trying to contact me through my blog, so I added a contact form. The message sent through the contact form will be delivered straight to the email that you have set for them to be delivered to. Contact forms are good because you don’t have to expose your email address.

At first I thought it would take a lot of brain work to get a contact form to work on a blog. Turned out it’s easy as pie. With the right plugin that is.

There are many contact form plugins out there, but the one that I’m using is Contact Form 7 created by Takayuki Miyoshi. Domo Arigatou gozaimasu Takayuki san. :)

Good place to shop for lighting.

Do you know how much is the world’s most expensive lamp costs ? A Tiffany Lotus lamp which was created by Louis Comfort Tiffany and his associate artists. It’s initial price tag was  only $750 in 1906. However, 91 years later, the only existing Tiffany’s Lotus lamp was sold for $2.8 million at Christies. I suppose the light shines brighter from a $2.8 million lamp than a $100 one ?

As for the rest of us who cannot splash millions of dollars for lamps, there is a good place where it is convenient to find beautifully designed and great value for money lamps. We can go to Farreys.com.

The reason I think it is a good place to shop for lighting is because it purvey thousands of lamps to choose from. Table lamps, chandeliers, mini chandeliers, pendant lamps, mini pendant lamps, floor lamps, wall mounting lamps, torchieres and more. Just name it.

Now when there are thousands to choose from, of course it isn’t easy to look for the one that you are looking for. Well, not that hard actually because you can browse according to the brand, the type, the style, the finishing and of course the price.

So the choices are amazing. Don’t have to take my word for it, you can check it for yourself.

200 over television channels?

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Few weeks after we moved to our new apartment last October, we subscribed to satellite television. But it was just a few days ago that we upgraded it so that we have the movie channels like HBO and Cinemax. Altogether we have 200 over channels to choose from. Some people may ask, “what in the world does anyone need 200 plus tv channels for?”. Well, we have asked that question ourselves before,  but we got the package nevertheless  because we wanted choices. You don’t have to watch all the channels but when you feel like watching a certain channel, it is there. The picture quality is crisp and clear, it is a good value for money, so we have no regrets.

If you too are considering  satellite television, check out what Direct TV has got to offer. You just got to go for Direct Satellite TV, because they have over 130 High Definition channels with digital quality. If you are a sports fan, consider this - exclusive sports packages that is not available anywhere else. These packages includes, NFL Sunday tickets, Nascar Hot pass, NCAA Mega March Madness, and MLB extra innings. Imagine watching all these games from the comfort of your very own home in HD.

Now, DirecTV Offers 6 packages with starting price of $29.99. You can choose the package that suits you and your monthly budget. For more info you may visit their website at directtv.com.

How can one feel bored at home with 200 over channels to watch?? :)

Mass graves in Polish city.

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Just finished reading an article about the findings in the Polish city of Malbork. The city was formerly called Marienburg where people of German descent lived. Though it was not the first mass grave found in the Polish city, but it was the biggest thus far. It contained about 2000 bodies. Believed to be Germans who died in times towards the end of WWII. Not only men but also women and children.

How they died and how they happened to be there, nobody had any real answers except theories. The bodies were completely naked when they were buried, thus no personal items were found. No clothes, no rings, no watches. Nothing were found but bones.

It is such a tragedy and I truly feel sorry for them. Those piles of bones were once walking, talking people, who once were happy, laughed, celebrated and even had hopes. None of them would have thought that their dreams and hopes would have been shattered by the war and they ending up killed brutally and buried in a massive hole. Forgotten.

Indeed a tragedy.

Flea control guide site.

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

If you ever had a pet, you will definitely have faced flea problem at least once. I don’t have a dog or a cat, but my aunt had a dog (named Shaggy) that had a flea problem. She totally had no idea where Shaggy got them from. What we know was, once he got it, it was not easy to rid of them.

Fleascontrol.com is a website that offers tips and advices on how to deal with flea problem. Be it dog fleas, cat fleas or even home infesting, human biting fleas.

Did you know that Lavender, eucalyptus and mint can be used as a natural way of repelling fleas? Well now you know. I actually read that fact from the website.

For more interesting information like that, do check the website for yourself.

Looking for other Asians to chat with?

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

As an Asian living in Europe I find myself looking forward to find friends who are Asians. Even if they are not from the same country as I am. Most probably there are something that we can relate to or what we can call it as common grounds.

There is a website that is dedicated for Asian chat, but it can be used  by anyone of any race. Therefore, either because one is looking for other asians to chat with, or from a different ethnic that wants to make friends with Asians, to know their culture and etc, this website is the right place to be. The website that I am talking about is Asian Chat City at asianchatcity.com.

Feel free to check it out.

It’s time for Spring Shopping.

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

When ever I have some spare time to kill I would usually do a little online window shopping. You’ll never know what great bargains you can find. I just bought through the internet 3 pairs of spring shoes for my little girl. They cost over $20 cheaper than if I buy the same type of shoes in a retail store here. Sure I would have to wait a little bit for the shoes to be delivered, but considering that I didn’t have to spend too much time traveling to the retail store and it takes only a few minutes of my time ordering them, it is all worth it.

Perhaps you have heard of ShopWiki where you can find the best bargains for all sorts of  items from about 30,000 stores.  Therefore, if you are like me, it is a great website for me to find the best bargains there are. The results are totally unbiased. You can find search results for the item you are looking for from stores like Amazon.com, barnes & nobles,  ebay and more.

Just like a wikipedia, shopwiki is a little more than a bargain search website. It also provides information that relates to the things that you are looking for, say for example women spring style guide. They will come up with a list of the latest 2009 Spring trends. Choosing the trend that suits your taste you can choose the designer of your choice and they will take you to another list of clothes from this designer including the best prices and where you can buy them from. Anyway, now that Spring is here, I’m already looking forward to Summer. May be checking out the latest women summer style guide soon as well. Then it will be just about the right time to check out the latest designs and fashions for Womens’ swimsuits.

Online shopping is just so convenient. If only every online store can provide 1 day shipment time. Now that would be really great. But for now let us be thankful for online shopping.

Write reviews and make friends.

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

A couple of months  ago I joined a social networking website that is one of its kind. It is not only a social networking site but a place where you can review about the hi-tech phone you use, the shiny cool car you drive, the chic restaurant you’ve tried out and so on. The aim is not only that people would be able to make use of the reviews you write, you would be able to get connected with people who share the same interests or have the same things that you own and agree with you on how wonderful those things are. (Wouldn’t it be great to have finally found someone who listens to and love the music album that only you and nobody else you know likes??). I think the website is something like a cross between a consumer review  and a social networking website.

The site that I’m talking about is acobay.com. Just like any other social networking sites, it is free to join. So basically you can write reviews about the things you have, the things you’ve tried - like a trip, a theme park ride, etc; the books you’ve read, the movies you’ve watched ,also about the places you’ve been to - for example like restaurants, hotels, resorts, and so on.

Now, if you are there just to read the reviews, it’s so easy to navigate through the website. They have categorized the thousands of items into networks, e.g. auto network, pet network, movie network and more. To make it easier, just do a little keyword search. I did a search for “Malaysia” and I came up with a list of results. Glad to read about how people who visited the country loved it.

The website is still new and in its beta stage so they are still building up on the content. But the contents are adding up fast. So if you have something in mind that you would like to buy, why not check out whether you can find reviews about it on the website?

Michael Jackson’s last performances?

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

I have read an article on the Telegraph.co.uk about Michael Joe Jackson’s upcoming performances in the O2 arena, London beginning this July. According to the article, M.J mentioned that the perfomances would be his “curtain call”. Now for those who happen to be lucky enough to be living in London or would be able to travel to London, Tickets to Michael Jackson’s concerts can be obtained online through this website: www.teamonetickets.com.

Now with that said… what about his other fans from other parts of the world?? I mean, if he really thinks that this is going to be his last ever concerts, why not try to make a world tour eh? He should know that he has fans from all over the world. Some of those may have the money to buy tickets to his concerts yet would not be able to afford the flight ticket and accommodations in London.

Anyway, to those who have no problems going, it may be the most awesome performance from M.J that they will remember for ever. At 51, does M.J still have the “magic” in him?? That’s what many would definitely look forward to.

Natural skin treatments.

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

I have been suffering from dry skin for a very long time. The cold winter months did not help the situation but made it a lot worse. On top of that problem I have rather sensitive skin to  certain products.

That is the reason why I usually go for products that contain the most natural ingredients. They tend to be less irritating to my sensitive skin. If you are like me, maybe products from Forces of Nature can be ‘the’ product that will help you heal your skin problems. Their line of  products contains all natural certified medical plant extract. They have atopic treatments for extremely dry skin (eczema), molluscum, herpes, Wart Removal and more. It is rather encouraging to read the testimonials of the customers who have tried and are satisfied with their products.

Though I believe that no one product works for everyone, but it is really no harm in trying something. Because it is through trying that one knows whether a certain treatment is suitable or not. So if you want to check for yourself you can go to forces-of-nature.net.
